My First Confession and My First Communion book

Teaching the Catechism to children should be, but frequently is not, the most interesting task of all parents and catechists. One important cause of the lack of enthusiasm is the fact that the books are not designed nor organized according to the level of the children. Usually the lesson is limited to the repetition of formulas which, even if well memorized, are rather too often but barely understood.

My First Confession and My First Communion is a guidebook which covers all the salient points of the Catholic faith. Each of the 29 lessons include 1) a short narrative, 2) a biblical reference, 3) a practical resolution, 4) a question and answer catechism, and 5) exercises to check the child's retention of each topic. It also has a Homework to impress the matter more firmly in the minds of the young.
